AITEC World Regional Representative for North Africa, Amb. Nancy Abdelhadi, proudly co-anchored the 63rd Independence Anniversary Celebration of the Republic of Uganda alongside Mr. Allan Tazenya, Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of Uganda in Cairo, at the Triumph Luxury Hotel Ballroom.
The event, hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Cairo was a spectacular celebration attended by ambassadors, dignitaries, government officials, business leaders, and members of the African and diplomatic communities.
The Charge d’Affaires a.i., H.E. Ambassador General Charles Angina, opened the evening with inspiring remarks on the historic ties between Uganda and Egypt, emphasizing their shared vision for African unity and economic collaboration. The Guest of Honour, Hon. Mohamed Gobran, Egypt’s Minister of Labour, lauded Uganda’s remarkable progress and contribution to Africa’s development. The Dean of African Ambassadors, H.E. Dr. Mohamadou Labarang, Ambassador of Cameroon, also addressed the audience, highlighting the enduring spirit of solidarity among African nations.
Guests were treated to captivating cultural performances, vibrant “Explore Uganda” tourism reels, and an immersive experience that showcased why Uganda rightfully bears the title “The Pearl of Africa.” From the breathtaking shores of Lake Victoria, to the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, the world-famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest—home to rare mountain gorillas—Uganda’s beauty and diversity were vividly brought to life throughout the evening.

The celebration culminated in a ceremonial cake-cutting and dinner featuring authentic Ugandan cuisine, accompanied by music and traditional dance performances that filled the ballroom with joy and pride.
As co-Masters of Ceremony, Amb. Nancy Abdelhadi and Mr. Allan Tazenya guided the evening with grace, eloquence, and infectious enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere of unity, pride, and celebration worthy of Uganda’s 63rd Independence Anniversary.
