The Africa-International Tourism and Economic Council (AITEC World) and Legendary Gold Limited, the promoters of Africa Celebrates, have formalized a landmark partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the unveiling of a new continental tourism platform — Africa Tourism Dialogue (ATD).
The historic ceremony took place at the prestigious Benin Royal Hotel in Cotonou, the headquarters of AITEC World, shortly after its official launch in Abuja. The agreement was signed by Amb. Dine Bouraima, President of AITEC World, and Mr. Lexy Mojo-Eyes, CEO of Legendary Gold Limited.

A highlight of the occasion was the official unveiling of the ATD logo by Madam Mariam Djaouga, Delegate Minister for Social Affairs of Benin Republic, alongside Hon. Catherine Afeku, former Minister of Tourism and MP from Ghana. Their presence, joined by leading figures in the tourism sector across Benin and beyond, underscored the importance of the initiative.

In his welcome address, Amb. Dine Bouraima expressed optimism about the partnership, noting that the collaboration represents “a promise of hope for global tourism.” He further extended an invitation to guests to attend the second launch of AITEC World during the 2025 edition of Africa Celebrates, scheduled to take place from 4–9 November 2025 at the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Mr. Lexy Mojo-Eyes also conveyed his excitement about the partnership, showcasing a captivating video highlight of Africa Celebrates’ last edition, which drew applause from the audience.

Amb. Kazeem Balogun, Vice President of AITEC World for Communication and International Relations, delivered a compelling presentation on both AITEC World and Africa Tourism Dialogue, emphasizing their role as catalysts for sustainable tourism development and economic cooperation across Africa.
Hon. Catherine Afeku praised the MoU, calling it a “forward-looking understanding” that should be nurtured for the greater good of Africa’s tourism landscape. Madam Mariam Djaouga also commended the initiative, recognizing its potential to boost regional collaboration and visibility.
Representing Nigeria, Ambassador Bukar Labambe, Charge d’Affairs in Benin Republic, lauded the collaboration and pledged Nigeria’s support for the initiatives whenever needed.
The event was sealed with symbolic prayers for the success of the union, offered by Dada Honou, a Chief Priest in Benin, and an imam, reflecting both cultural and spiritual solidarity.
With the signing of this MoU and the unveiling of Africa Tourism Dialogue, AITEC World and Africa Celebrates have set a new milestone in advancing tourism diplomacy and pan-African collaboration, reinforcing the continent’s place on the global tourism stage.
