AITEC World Expands Footprint in Seychelles as National Representatives Present Credentials to Tourism Ministry

The Africa-International Tourism and Economic Council (AITEC World) has recorded another significant milestone in its drive to strengthen tourism collaboration across Africa, as its National Representative for Seychelles, Mr. Mervin Cedras, and Deputy National Representative, Mr. Christopher Lespoir, officially presented their mandate and credentials to the Principal Secretary of the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism, Mrs. Sherin Francis, in Victoria, Friday.

The official presentation marks the formal commencement of AITEC World’s activities in Seychelles and reinforces the organisation’s commitment to promoting the island nation as one of Africa’s leading tourism destinations on the global stage.

During the meeting, both parties explored opportunities for collaboration aimed at advancing sustainable tourism development, strengthening destination marketing, encouraging investment, and increasing international visibility for Seychelles through AITEC World’s growing continental and global network.

Mr. Cedras reaffirmed AITEC World’s vision of “Linking Africa to the World and the World to Africa,” noting that Seychelles occupies a strategic position in Africa’s tourism landscape due to its world-renowned natural beauty, conservation achievements, and premium tourism offerings.

He stated that AITEC World is committed to working closely with the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and other stakeholders to showcase the country’s unique tourism assets while contributing to broader African tourism integration and economic growth.

The presentation of credentials also signals the beginning of a stronger partnership between AITEC World and the Government of Seychelles, with plans to support initiatives that promote seamless tourism cooperation, knowledge exchange, investment opportunities, and participation in major continental tourism events.

AITEC World President, Amb. Dine Bouraima, welcomed the development, describing it as another important step in expanding the organisation’s presence across Africa. He expressed confidence in the leadership of Mr. Cedras and Mr. Lespoir to advance AITEC World’s mission in Seychelles and strengthen the country’s engagement with the wider African tourism community.

As AITEC World continues to establish national representations across the continent, the Seychelles office is expected to play a vital role in fostering partnerships that will enhance tourism, cultural exchange, economic cooperation, and Africa’s collective visibility in the global tourism marketplace.
